Columbia Road Flower Market

A friend took me here a few weeks ago, on a perfect August Sunday. We walked from Bethnal Green and you have to take a few windy, backstreet roads before you suddenly meet the hustle and bustle of the flower market.

Beautiful cafes and coffee shops are rammed with ulter cool East London types and designer clad yummy mummies, and you realise straight away that this is one of London's gems; a real find.

The sunflowers were incredible and it was hard to pick just one bunch to take home, but I settled for some tall, pink and purple gladioli, to which the man selling them shouted, 'look see, this woman's got sense!'

Will definitely be visiting again soon.
